I start in a Leading Horse Stance.
I step forward and raise my kicking leg up with the lower leg parallel to the floor.
Then I snap out the kick.

The Basic Parries of Kisae Kempo
I am demonstrating the six basic parries today.
The parry meets the incoming fist at a slight angle.
There is less resistance and the blow is redirected with a minimum of effort.

Yellow Belt Lead Arm Primary Blocking Set of KISAE Kempo
The video shows these very basic striking blocks.
They are used to defend against a straight in Forefist Thrust to my head or torso.
I use the limb alone method…
In other words, I use the limb for a stable stance to strike the incoming blow away.
The shoulder remains still as does the torso and even the hips.
The idea is to remain in a strong stance and let the blocking arm strike the incoming arm away.

Another High, Low, Centre Punching Drill
Very similar to yesterdays drill.
I am moving only my arms to punch.
I keep my shoulders and torso still.
Today I am punching from the ‘High Guard’ position.
I start with my hands held high.

High, Low Centre Punching Drill
I am punching with a ‘Vertical’ or ‘Standing’ fist from the hip.
Yet I am using only my arms to punch with.
My core, my torso and my hips act as a brace from which I drive my punches out.
I do this drill for about 30 seconds.
