In this case, I block a heavy horizontal punch to my face with an Outside Palm Block. This is immediately followed by the opposite arm ‘checking’. I literally hold his arm in place for a fraction of a second before countering.
When I block using the Outside Palm Block, I am blocking across my body with the palm before checking his arm.
Just like yesterday’s drill, this block/check works best against a heavy punch.
